International Cambridge Awards 2023

Each year, Cambridge International recognises those students who have excelled in the June and November examinations.  In 2023, Indigo Tomlinson attained two awards. One for IGCSE Business Studies (June 2023), and another for IGCSE Geography (June 2023).

Cambridge Examination Results 2023 

IGCSE Level 

At IGCSE Level, 35% of all grades were either ‘A’ or ‘A*’. Of these, 18% were ‘A**.

A ‘D’ grade at this level is equivalent to qualification to Year 12 in a subject and 95% of all grades were ‘D’ grade or higher.

Toby Hamilton attained five A* grades (Biology 94, Chemistry 91, English Literature 90, Mathematics 98, Physics 93 – 466) 

Rachael Jackson attained four A* grades (Chemistry 90, Geography 90, Mathematics 93, Physics 93) 

Indigo Tomlinson attained four A* grades (Business Studies 94, Geography 95, History 91, English Literature 95) 

AS Level

At AS Level, 20% of all grades were at ‘A’ grade (there is no A* grade at this level). A ‘D’ grade at this level is equivalent to University Entrance level in New Zealand and 77% of all grades were ‘D’ grade or higher.

Heidi McGregor attained 4 ‘A’ grades (Mathematics 91, Biology 87, Chemistry 81, Physics 80) 

Lucy Murray attained 3 ‘A’ grades (Literature in English 86, Psychology 85, Biology 82) 

Jade Culham attained 3 ‘A’ grades (Physical Education 82, Business 81, Biology 81) 

Alex Horwood attained 3 ‘A’ grades (Geography 88, Marine Science 86, Psychology 83) 

Of the Year 12 students, 73% attained their University Entrance. 

 

A Level 

At A Level, 20% of all grades were ‘A’. There were no ‘A*’ grades awarded. A ‘D’ grade at this level is University Entrance level in New Zealand and 86% of all grades were ‘D’ grade or above.

Ryan Jones (Dux Litterarum) attained 3 ‘A’ grades (Business 85, Mathematics 85, Physics 83) 

Of Year 13 students, 93% left Huanui College with University Entrance.

NCEA 

At NCEA Level 2 English, 86% of all credits awarded were at ‘Achieved’ level or higher. For Mathematics, this was 83%. Te Reo Māori ‘Achieved’ or higher results for levels 1, 2 and 3 were 82%, 75% and 100% respectively.
