Preliminary Report

 

IGCSE Level

At IGCSE Level, 30% of all grades were either ‘A’ or ‘A*’. Of these, 15% were ‘A*’.

A ‘D’ grade at this level is equivalent to qualification to Year 12 in a subject and 91% of all grades were ‘D’ grade or higher.

  • Aston Plunkett attained seven A* grades (Accounting 96, Chemistry 96, English Language 95, English Literature 90, Geography 95, Mathematics 99, Physics 95)
  • Olivia Tremain attained six A* grades (Biology 95, Chemistry 93, English Literature 93, Mathematics 97, Physical Education 91, Physics 95)
  • Eliana Richling attained four A* grades (Biology 95, Chemistry 93, Design and Technology 92, Mathematics 95, Spanish 94)

 

AS Level

At AS Level, 17% of all grades were at ‘A’ grade (there is no A* grade at this level). A ‘D’ grade at this level is equivalent to University Entrance level in New Zealand and 81% of all grades were ‘D’ grade or higher (up from 77% in 2023)

  • Indigo Tomlinson attained 5 ‘a’ grades (Business 95, Digital Media 84, English Literature 91, Geography 92, History 87)
  • Lucas Urlich attained 4 ‘a’ grades (Business 92, English General 81, Geography 85, History 80)
  • Toby Hamilton attained 4 ‘a’ grades (Chemistry 82, English Literature 92, Mathematics 90, Physics 85)

Of the Year 12 students, 72% attained their University Entrance.

 

A Level

At A Level, 25% of all grades were ‘A’. 7% of A2 grades were at ‘A*’ level (up from 0% in 2023) A ‘D’ grade at this level is University Entrance level in New Zealand and 90% of all grades were ‘D’ grade or above. 

  • Isabella Welford (Dux Litterarum) attained 3 ‘A*’ grades (Accounting 93, Mathematics 91, Physics 92)
  • Kaitlyn Oliver (Proxime Accessit) attained 2 ‘A*’ grades (Geography 90, Psychology 91)
  • Alex Horwood attained 3 ‘A’ grades (Geography 83, Marine Science 85, Psychology 87)

Of Year 13 students, 89% left Huanui College with University Entrance.

 

NCEA

At NCEA Level 1 Te Reo Māori, 40% of all credits awarded were at ‘Achieved’ level or higher. For Level 2, 76% of all credits awarded were at ‘Achieved’ level or higher. Of these, 36% of credits awarded were at ‘Excellence’ level.
