Tauraroa Area School hosts an annual Photography competition open to Rural schools in Whangarei. This year, we had entries in the Year 8 “Sand Patterns” category, and the Year 13 “Reflections” category. Our students made us proud not only in the overall quality of their work, but in the effort they put in to show creative and technical ability.
We had wonderful success in the Year 8 Category, with Poppy Smillie and Dovey Mabey making the final selection, Zara Welford who was the runner-up winner, and Cameron Barrett who took out 1st place with excellent comments from the judges on his use of perspective and texture in his winning photo!
Juliet Heaton entered a beautiful image into the Year 13 category “Reflections”, and not only won 1st place for this, but won Overall Supreme Winner of the Competition! Congratulations to a everyone who entered high quality imagery, our winners and to Tauraroa Area School for a wonderful event. Looking forward to next year.
