On the 3rd of June, Huanui College held its 12th annual Cross Country.The runners demonstrated great stamina, and with an almost 100% participation rate, the students exemplified determination and perseverance, with many students running two races. It was awesome to see a few teachers run as well. Overall, it was a very successful day but it was not without the inevitable inter-whānau rivalry.
All the races were hotly contested and entertaining to watch, however Ngāpua won the event by a wide margin, with Blake second, Hillary third and Sheppard fourth. The much-anticipated tug-of-war added some excitement to the day, and the house spirit throughout was excellent.
