Step 2 | Initial Assessment

Your child will be invited to come to school to complete the initial assessments for English and Mathematics. These assessments give the school valuable diagnostic information. You may be invited to meet with the Curriculum Leaders of these subjects to assist the planning of an academic pathway at Huanui College for your child. Your child’s placement at Huanui College is not dependent on the result of the assessments.

Step 3 | Attend Enrolment Interview

This interview is important for everyone including you, your child and Huanui College. It will provide you with the opportunity to meet our Senior Management in a relaxed setting, discuss Huanui College’s culture and expectations and to ask any questions you may have.

Step 4 | The School’s Consideration

Students will need to demonstrate a willingness and ability to support Huanui College’s shared vision and core values and to apply themselves to academically and participate fully in school life. When assessing applications for enrolment, each prospective student’s educational needs are considered and where necessary, further information may be requested.

Step 5 | Offer of Place

If the roll allows additional intake and Huanui College accepts your child’s application, you will receive a letter reserving a place for you child.  Included with this will be an Admissions Agreement, please read carefully as you will need to sign this at your meeting with the Principal. Your child’s enrolment will be subject to Huanui College’s Conditions of Entry as set out the Admissions Agreement.

Please note: The offer of place must be accepted within 7 days. Please ring the Office to book an with the Principal within the month.
