Activities Programme

Home > Learning > Activities Programme

We believe in a balanced education that develops the whole student. It is for this reason we provide an activities programme every Thursday afternoon to give our students opportunities to be creative, feel connected and/or challenged. We want our students to be taught in a variety of ways and situations so students have a range of activities to select from, ranging from sports to learning outside of their core subjects. Activities may last one term or longer, and at the end of a term students can choose a new option so they can extend and enrich their learning. Senior students also have the opportunity to extend their leadership skills by organising an activity to lead, with the support of a teacher.

The benefits of an activities program include:

  • A broader base of knowledge
  • A desire to learn and understand
  • A sense of one’s place in the global community
  • An experience of other perspectives
  • A desire to contribute and be an active citizen
  • An awareness of inherent responsibilities
  • An opportunity to be challenged
  • A strong individual and communal identification
  • An ability to effect change
  • Respect for others
